All 80 Software Categories Split by Buyer Intent as 30 Best Leaders Change
The current edition maps 2,915 ranked products, 9,292 Sources and 37,841 Mentions, with four different leaders in 51 categories and a changed Best leader in 30.

What This Edition Measures
The current edition records recommendations from ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, and Perplexity across 80 business software categories. The August 17 to August 23 measurement window contains 2,915 distinct ranked products, 9,292 Sources and 37,841 Mentions under the aiq-v2 methodology.
Cooper asks the same four direct questions in every category. Best measures broad recommendation strength. Most Affordable isolates the budget question. Easiest to Set Up focuses on implementation. Rising looks for emerging products. These are independent rankings, not ingredients in a blended score.
AIQ runs from 1 to 100 and is category-relative. It can help compare products inside the same category and ranking question, but a raw AIQ from one software market should not be read against a score from another.
The Week's Real Story Is Intent
Leadership changed in 30 Best rankings, 49 Most Affordable rankings, 44 Easiest to Set Up rankings, and 35 Rising rankings from last week. Across the current results, 51 categories produce four different leaders and the other 29 produce three. No category returns one universal answer to all four questions.
The result is not disorder. It is a warning against treating a broad recommendation, a budget answer, a setup answer, and an emerging-product signal as the same buying question. The practical reading order begins with Best, then tests that result against the buyer's actual constraint.
Three Categories Show Why a Composite Would Mislead
Conversation Intelligence separates every question cleanly:
Gong leads Best, Fireflies.ai leads Most Affordable,
Fathom leads Easiest to Set Up, and
Attention leads Rising. A single combined score would erase the buyer intent that produces those four answers.
Appointment Scheduling shows a different pattern. Calendly leads both Best and Easiest to Set Up, while
Picktime leads Most Affordable and
Cal.com leads Rising. Agreement on two questions still leaves price and emerging momentum open.
In Procurement, SAP Ariba leads Best and
Odoo Purchase leads Most Affordable.
Zip takes both Easiest to Set Up and Rising. Here the overlap is itself informative: the setup answer and emerging-product signal converge without displacing the broader recommendation leader.
Where the Assistants Agree
Among the 80 Best leaders, 55 appear in all 4 assistant lists, 14 appear in 3, 4 appear in 2, and 7 appear in only 1. Twenty-one leaders go further and hold the #1 position with every assistant. That is meaningful within-category convergence, but it does not make AIQ comparable across unrelated categories.
A missing assistant position means only that the product has no category rank from that assistant in the stated question. It is not a rejection, and breadth should be read beside the individual positions rather than used as a replacement for them.
A Larger Evidence Footprint, Not a Ranking Explanation
Coverage also expanded: distinct ranked products increased from 2,853 to 2,915, Sources from 9,119 to 9,292, and Mentions from 36,148 to 37,841. Those figures describe a larger evidence corpus; they do not explain why any product moved.
Sources count distinct cited pages. Mentions count verified product-page occurrences. Both make the evidence trail inspectable, but neither is used here as the cause of rank, AIQ, or week-over-week movement.
What Leads the Current Edition
Sales offers one of the week's clearest consensus signals. In Conversation Intelligence,
Gong reaches Best AIQ 100, appears in all 4 assistant lists, and sits 74 points ahead of third. Its current category evidence is comparatively compact at 4 Sources and 5 Mentions. That contrast is useful: recommendation strength and evidence volume describe different parts of the result. Read the current Sales report.
Marketing shows what a deep evidence trail looks like when it accompanies a commanding recommendation. Amplitude leads Product Analytics at Best AIQ 98, appears in all 4 assistant lists, and holds a 71-point advantage over third. Its 37 Sources and 59 Mentions make the category one of the richer evidence reads in this overview. The Best result is emphatic, but a buyer focused on price, setup, or momentum still has a different question to ask. Open the Marketing analysis.
Support turns a broad recommendation into a particularly strong category verdict. Circle reaches Best AIQ 100 in Community Management, with representation in all 4 assistant lists and a 73-point lead over third. The 40 Sources and 56 Mentions give that result substantial context. What makes the full report worth opening is everything the headline cannot settle: the products selected when affordability, setup, and emerging momentum take priority. HR brings unusually broad agreement to a buying area that is rarely simple.
Greenhouse takes Best AIQ 100 in Recruiting (ATS), appears across all 4 assistant lists, and leads third by 72 points. Its 41 Sources and 51 Mentions add a wide evidence footprint to that consensus. Even so, implementation effort and budget remain separate decisions, which is precisely why the other rankings sit beside Best. Read the current HR report.
Finance supplies the widest top-to-third gap among the eight hub examples. Ramp leads Spend Management at Best AIQ 100, appears in all 4 assistant lists, and stands 80 points clear of third. Yet its current category evidence records only 1 Source and 3 Mentions. The apparent mismatch is the point, not a flaw: AIQ measures recommendation strength, while Sources and Mentions describe the evidence available to inspect. Open the Finance analysis.
Productivity looks settled at first glance. Calendly posts Best AIQ 100 in Appointment Scheduling, reaches all 4 assistant lists, and leads third by 77 points. Its 44 Sources and 66 Mentions also make the result easy to investigate. The useful complication arrives after Best: convenience, cost, and emerging alternatives can still redirect the shortlist. Continue to the Productivity report.
IT & Security pairs full assistant breadth with a large competitive gap. In Business VPN, NordLayer records Best AIQ 100, appears in all 4 assistant lists, and leads third by 72 points. The category adds 23 Sources and 29 Mentions to the evidence trail. For a security buyer, that is a strong place to begin diligence, not a substitute for testing fit against deployment and cost constraints. Read the current IT & Security report.
Engineering closes the tour with the largest evidence footprint of these eight examples. GitHub Actions leads CI/CD at Best AIQ 100, spans all 4 assistant lists, and sits 70 points ahead of third. Its 53 Sources and 73 Mentions provide plenty of material for verification. The consensus is difficult to ignore, but teams choosing a delivery stack still need to ask whether ease, economics, or a newer option matters more than the broad Best answer. Open the Engineering analysis.
